The terms SFF and speculative fiction are used in various places on these forums. For the purposes of Fantasy & Beyond, I consider them interchangeable. They both include a vast body of literature whose most important defining feature is that it isn't fictional realism.

Strictly speaking, one might say that SFF is limited to more 'purist' works of science fiction and fantasy whereas speculative fiction is a broader term that includes genres like horror, superhero stories, and weird fiction. But we can leave the finer points of the genre discussion to the SFF Book Discussion forum and be content with the idea that at F&B, we welcome all things weird and unreal! :robot: :elf: :zombie:
